NO comment on the Bill Bennett "controversy" Jason? In case you missed the ENTIRE quote (the mainstream media has been reporting only the first half - including Katie Couric on the "Today" show), here it is: "I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could—if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down." He was responding to an interview questions about extrapolations on abortion where OTHERS said that increased abortions reduce crime. As Brent Bozell said, "It didn't seem to matter that Bennett, statistically speaking, was not inaccurate: The Bureau of Justice Statistics found in 2002 that black Americans were seven times more likely to commit homicide (per 100,000 population) than whites, and six times more likely to be murdered. Sadly, from 1976 to 2002, 94 percent of black murder victims were killed by other blacks. Nor does it matter that Bennett unequivocally couched his comments with a denunciation of forced abortions against blacks, and never mind that he's spent a lifetime championing the pro-life and civil-rights causes. All that mattered to the Left was opportunity."
hey thanks for stopping by and answering my question about random comments that make no sense on my blog, i've taken care of that problem. Interesting blog..later
I was wondering if you were going to comment on the earnings reports from the major oil companies that were released this week? I believe both Exxon/Mobile and Connoco/Phillips posted 75-90% increases in profit. See below...
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp. on Thursday posted a quarterly profit of $9.9 billion, the largest in U.S. corporate history, as it raked in a bonanza from record oil and gas prices. While profit was up 75 percent and revenue rose 32 percent to more than $100 billion, the results fell short of Wall Street forecasts due to production outages caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and sharply lower profit at the company's chemicals division
The opinions of a bible-thumping red-neck from one of the inconsequential fly over states. I guess you and your kind are still sticking behind the policies of baby Bush, a man you surely relate to. Straight c-student, well-traveled…not, and a man that prides himself on his daily Bushisms. 10 to 1 odds, your car has a bumper sticker that says "Let God Show Them Mercy, Because We Won't".
Jason, you've inspired me to create my own blog. I hope I can be as dedicated as you in posting my thoughts and ideas. Check it out at marklancasters.blogspot.com
I just wonder how you would feel if a Budhist University were to expel a student for converting from Budhism to Christianity.
The fact that Jason discovered his homosexuality after he had already made the choice to attend the school and had already completed a year is a very crucial factor here. He didn't enroll into the college with a belief that he was homosexual. He was struggling with the issue and ironically, decided to attend the school to help him become closer with God. Therefore, it is not a "malice with forethought" issue.
Finally, the fact that the school is expelling him only weeks before the end of the semester and giving him failing grades in every course extends past upholding principals to downright harassment of Jason because he is a homosexual.
I am often baffled at how our fellow christians can become so full of hatred. In this case, I can only ask what would Jesus do?
I just stopped in to see just how God has touched your life, Jason. He's got a huge hold on you!!! Anxious to meet your wife and sons, and to just hug yer skinny little neck again!!! Miss you so much. Lisa Archer (formerly of Osborn MO, now in Kirksville MO)
Just enjoying your site. I would love to hear your take on what is going on in Lebanon the nation that allows and harbors Muslim extremists and Israel that everyone of these Muslim nations wants to destroy.
Just want to hear your wisdom. By the way why are all these spineless liberals taking such a passive approach on this.
My question to these libs, they don't like "Christianity" but I think they would hate having to be Muslim even less.
