The Only Ice that Is Melting is the Thin Ice Gore's Movie Stands Upon

You should all check out this article by Tom Harris. It completely debunks the movie that was just put out by that guy that invented the internet.

Pleasant Reading,

Jason

Ahh yes, the internet lie. Bush the candidate and his surrogates repeat this lie over and over until it becomes accepted. That's really bringing "honor and integrity" back to the White House.

Here's an explanation of what Gore really said:

What's the real story behind Al Gore Inventing the Internet?

Jason, why are you perpetuating this lie?

Oh please. Canada Free Press? That's like saying Fox News has proven conclusively that King Bush II is the most popular president in US history.

I think it's worth just browsing around the Canada Free Press site, if you have any doubts about the absurdity of citing that as a source.

    http://www.canadafreepress.com/

And the author's credentials? He's from the "High Park Group" which is evidently a lobby firm representing the energy industry. Yep, that's who I want writing news articles -- lobbyists. Uh-huh. His views on what constitutes an objective opinion are bound to be more well-founded than your average journalist who is actually schooled in such matters.

Of course, that didn't prevent the National Post from running a similar article from this same Tom Harris.

And here's a fun website featuring some of his contributions to this discussion (perhaps from before he was a lobbyist): http://www.iosphere.net/~tharris/

And as cited on the Canadian Nuclear Association's website, his not-so-illuminating article "Clean air answers point to nuclear power" http://www.cna.ca/english/articles.asp

And try this for more fun:

Hey, I can laugh with the best of them, but this was a pre-planned effort to spread lies to make Gore seem like a liar. They new what they were saying wasn't true. They didn't believe what they were saying and yet they still perpetuated this lie to achieve their goal. Facts don't seem to get in their way.

It seems to be a pattern with Bush and his subordinates.

I give you scientific conclusions and you give me a REPUBLICAN SENATE PRESS RELEASE? c'mon! Is that the best you can do? which article has the hidden agenda?....anyone...Bueller?

    Frizzle,
If I didn't know better I would say that you just attacked the messenger instead of the message.

    The article quotes:
    - Professor Bob Carter, of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University in Australia
    - Richard S. Lindzen, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT
    - Roy Spencer, principal research scientist for the University of Alabama in Huntsville
    - Former University of Winnipeg climatology professor Dr. Tim Ball

Whether or not Global Warming is the real deal is not my point here (although I want to make sure you all know I think it's garbage). The point is that Al Gore is using junk science (most notably the laughable "hockey stick" graph) to scare people. Presumably he is doing this for votes.

By the way, if you are going to say that I did the same thing with the Sierra Club - you're right, but if someone isn't going to even let me know who they are I'm not going to spend a lot of time on their posts.

of course I'm attacking the messenger. This Republican congress has proven over and over that they have a disdain for any scientific data that stands in the way of their political agenda. Why should anyone trust what they have to say?

By the way, "if someone isn't going to even let me know who they are I'm not going to spend a lot of time on their posts."

I'm confused with this sentence. Who are you referring to?

No, I'll always own up to my rants!

Have a great 4th! My partner and I are going to his boss's house in the Hollywood hills where you can see about 30 fireworks displays going off at once. It truly is an amazing site!

You know God is ultimately in control...and after it all said and done this Earth will be destroyed anyways. Oh by the way volcanos puts out more toxic gas and harms the atmosphere than any human does.

What does it matter, my home isn't Earth it is in Heaven.

The above statement is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard in regard to this debate. It's ok to shit all over the planet because we're just renting? What a moron!

If you don't care, stay out of the debate! And you can obviously forget about that security deposit!

Hey Friz - what happened to the liberal "tolerance" thing about the views of others?

    Who's close-minded now?

Chris, I don't know you but you summed it up very well.

  • At 1:42 PM, Blogger PhilDutra said…

Why be tolerant of stupidity? God didn't put us here to shit all over the planet! What happened to being good stewards of the land?

    Frizzle,
First, I'm not going to delete your posts, but please don't use foul language in the future.

Secondly, I do think that you missed Chris's point. He didn't say it's OK to make a mess of the planet, he was just saying that the fact that the Earth will self-destruct doesn't bother him.

Thirdly, your comment about being a good steward of the land is right on the money.

Hope this helps us to all "just get along". :)

Chris: Frizzle is a pretty cool guy actually - he's just wrong a lot. :) Please keep commenting.

The Earth isn't "SELF-destructing". That's my point. Is crap a better word?

Chris, (not that I have any say hear) but please, Keep on commenting.

    Hey Frizzle-

I don't take offense to what you said.

I do believe we need to take care of what God has given us, but it is not a priority in my life and my life doesn't revolve around the lies that liberals talk about in regards to global warming/cooling. It all goes in cycles, there was warming going on before cars, industries and the like...that is fact. Volcanos do put out more toxic air than any thing else on this planet and that my friend is true, the gases that volcanos put out is very bad to the atmosphere...look it up, this true.

My point on this Earth coming to an end is this, the Bible tells us that this Earth is only temporary one day it will not matter, what matters is where we will spend eternity.

    Chris
